ELIZABETH II Five Shillings 1953 Collectors Commemorative Coin

£3.00

ELIZABETH II Five Shillings 1953 Collectors Commemorative Coin

I WILL BEAR UNTO YOU FAITH AND TRUTH - around the edge of the coin.

The Royal Mint issued British Pound coins in 16 different denominations, including this British Five Shillings coin Coronation Crown (1953). They are part of the pre-decimal and withdrawn Pound Sterling coins series. The Royal Mint started issuing these 0.25 British Pound coins in 1953. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1953.

To commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 this crown coin was issued. It has a value of Five Shillings, the equivalent of 25 pence post-decimalisation. The Coronation Crown coin weighs 28.3 grams and measures 38mm across.

Uncirculated in Perspex plastic box. Mint condition collectable. Unfortunately, the box is very tired with surface scratches from handling but in turn this has kept the coin in good condition.
